I think Karkacabraon has the best interpretation, just that the couple in question don't actually need have many sexual partners, it might just be their fantasies or fears or options they ponder. Maybe only the singer's character is promiscuous and becomes paranoid about his loved one. I don't think that really matters, since it doesn't change the main point, which is the clash between two conflicting life affirming and love affirming forces - the force of your current "one true love" and the force of other people around you both.
Also I think that "drome" in psychodrome (since that seems to be the hot topic) is obviously cognate to hippodrome or aerodrome. Both of these evoke commotion and crowd and I think that it essentially means "We're not alone in this crowd of people who try to play different roles in each other's lives and try to influence each other's psyches."
Anyway, there aren't many songs in this world that are better than this one. This may sound crazy, but I think I like this song more than anything he did with FNM (and I really LOVE FNM)
Yeah I really groove on Peeping Tom, it's really hard to describe the feeling it stirs in me when I listen to it.
I love love love FNM but Peeping Tom is just so sexy.

Also... I wonder what is with Mike's obsession with TOM, as in, Peeping Tom, Fantomas, Tomahawk... Maybe it's just coincedence.
