I think this song is about awakening to a higher level of consciousness/spirituality, and being aware of how predictable and crippling the majority of the world is. However, it says "who's in control now I'm awake, cos I am not", and I think that can either means that he has surrendered to the flow of his higher state of mind, that he doesn't know how to approach this new state of mind and where to begin, or that the material world is pulling him back and he can't control it.
