I definitely agree that this whole song is about giving their relationship another chance. Definitely a classic case of when a couple breaks up but love each other so much that they can't decide if they should stay together and try and work it out or break it off completely. Obviously, the protagonist does not want to give up because he still has feelings for her and he knows she has feelings for him somewhere in her heart.

At the beginning of the song:

"But I still want ya, want ya Don't mean to taunt ya If you leave now, I'll come back and haunt ya You remember, we turn to center now"

He explains that he is fully aware that their relationship did not work out, but he still wants her cause he just loves her and he knows if she leaves, that the memories of him will make her regret her decision so it is best to return to their center of gravity, their relationship where they were comfortable...kind of.

"Well I just wish we could go back one more time and begin it, Back before I lost myself somewhere, somewhere in it."

"I've been stuck now so long, We just got the start wrong, One more last try, I'ma get the ending right,"

These completely make the whole song. I love that he is trying to explain to her that when they started their relationship it just started out bad, but if they could do it all over again and learn from their mistakes he knows their relationship could work out. He lost himself in the middle of their fights and arguments, but he has learned and he knows the ending will be different.

"You can't stop this, and I must insist, That you haven't had enough, You haven't had enough"

This is a classic case of when the guy is very adamant when a girl is ready to just cut the relationship out of her life. He clearly loves the relationship and her so much that he refuses to give it up. He insists that she hasn't had enough of him because he can't face the idea of her giving him up.

"Don't you need it? Don't you want this at all? (testing, testing, I'm just suggesting)"

This is a desperate plea...i guess you could say...a desperate measure! (name of the album lol). He clearly needs this relationship in his life and he wants her to have the same feeling even though it kind of suggests that she doesn't since he is, at this point, begging for her to stay. He just wants her to test it out one more time because he is so absolutely sure that it will work out.

I, as well as many others, have had this feeling towards the end of a relationship and it sucks, but it surely is inevitable that one of you will give up. I get that losing a relationship is like having a hole in your stomach and you just want the feeling back, but eventually you will have to stop begging and move on.
