I think this lyrics are very straightforward, the frustration when the person you still love doesn't seem to remember all the good things of being together, trying to bring back those memories in the hope that things get better, not giving up even when everything seems lost and I think that was one of Borland's recurrent subjects, some of his lyrics are mellancolic or depressing, but he wrote a lot of songs about it, like "Winning" or "Barria Alta" to mention some.
