I take it as that she is talking about how she's getting older and feeling alone, because she's not the same person like Mski5 said. However, I feel like she's making a reference also that she is growing old with a special someone in her life (obviously a lover); therefore, she's really not as alone as she feels sometimes. It's a bittersweet love song I think.
