This song acts as a continuation from State of Mind and how there are two sanctuaries I created, one being The Dark One which got a slight introduction in "beginning of the end" and the second one which this song goes into, and in my opinion intimately explains that while The Shadow is an escape, it doesn't do the "job" because there is a shred of human want and need even within something like Shadow. I do say that it feels good to slightly separate myself from the world in such a way it doesn't go too deep within the escape it leads to the malevolent force taking over, yet the Shadow is not less tragic than the reality it is still somewhat a part of and does still wish for things even though they seem impossible to gain.
