But, the band seems to have written it from the viewpoint of the rapist rather than the victim or a bystander as we mostly are just hearing about cases.
The lyrics seem to be written as if they were in the mind of a compulsive and obsessive rapist who is so deranged and infatuated with someone, he ends up abusing them.
The first verse shows his obsession with the victim- from watching them sleep to every move they make, and comparing life without them as suicide.
The second verse shows his intentions for the victim- exploring his sickest urges including the use of rope and wine.
