There is no corner of Government and Bay Avenue in Key West. There is a Government Avenue but no Bay Avenue. There are Bay Street and Bay Drive but they are nowhere near Government Avenue. And the library is on Fleming Avenue. Did they change the streets around since Jimmy was last there? Playing a joke on him maybe?

He stated he used to go to the library often because it was cool in there and there was also a cute girl that worked there. Nonetheless, in Mobile there is a public library on Government St. However, Bay Ave. does not intersect Government. I assume Jimmy went for the rhyme. I did find it interesting that the library is also three blocks south of Sir Francis Street, who is mentioned in the song.
