Simply said, this song is about a heartbreak and how the artist describes his feeling about his lover. The first two lines talks about the drinking problems some face during a heartbreak. He's trying to convince himself by saying, 'take it easy on yourself'.
Next he describes how badly he wants her to be with him. 'Landlord kicks the door' (presumably, to close it.). Then there's the next line, which I feel should be, 'place the chair and stop that whore.' This again describes about trying to not let her go.
