This song is a true work of art. The beginning description of the regretful "morning after" is so chalk-full of amazing imagery, to me its almost John Darnielle-esque. I know how Fink felt (and realistically, might still feel) about this concept. I love my on-and-off (ex?) girlfriend with everything I have, and she's absolutely the beat thing to ever happen to my life. She's messed around with 2 guys, one the first time she left me, the second was after a few extremely short "on" periods. She knows this almost as well as I do, but I could never, WOULD never, ever exact revenge with even kissing another girl, whether she was allowing me to be DMAR [David McCarthy Alyssa Rice] with her, or rather asking me to rot in hell. To me, its cheating.. No matter the circumstance(s), I know who the love of my life is, my other half, shit, ny freaking soul mate! And to me, because she'll always be my one and only, I couldn't "sleep with a stranger" because, as Fink here describes the regret and sheer disappointment on letting yourself down. This song is a very strong realistic portrayal of something Fink and I. Certainly have in common. Well that's enough of my book-length thoughts brought to you by David's rambling manic brain! Now only 17 easy payments of 72.41! But wait! There's more#! Oh, there isn't more? Oh.. Okay.
