This is based on personal experience but the reason I connected with this band when I was in high school is because of the overall distaste I had for everyone. All I wanted to be was unnoticed and not have to deal with the shallow, ignorant fucks that were so caught up in their ego's. You reach a point where you dread dealing with these people that need to interject their ego at every turn and hate you for not reinforcing their ego. It sucks when your home life is the exact same. It makes you feel like you're surrounded, trapped in a prison with a bunch of assholes who won't leave you alone. So you push away from everybody, isolate yourself so you can get those precious "few seconds away". But this makes you a target of the pack, whether it's your family or peers at school. And you have to deal with even more bullshit. I think this is what Chad means with this song.
