I think this is the best song off North and arguably one of the best songs Matchbox Twenty have ever produced. What a fantastic song to kick off the album (and their current tour). A classic alternative rock track with universal lyrics that almost anyone can relate to.
I agree with Devilsbane's interpretation - it's about knowing the good times while you're still having them and the fear of losing them. Someone who feels like his prime is behind him and he's desperate to get it back.
Funnily enough, my favourite songs I rarely listen to because I like to save them for a special time in my life. This is one of them - I've only listened to it twice despite listening to everything else on the album more than 20 times.
