I feel this song is about a son who did bad things when he was younger. He never understood how much his mother worked to supposrt him and his siblings and he had to go and ruin it all by being a bad son. And now that she's passed on, he misses her. He finally understands how hard her life must have been and he just made it harder by acting like an idiot. And now, he's in pain. He wonders if he can let her go. Can he say goodbye her? He's just basically in guilt and pain as he sings/raps this song. He loves his mother, but he feels he didn't show it or help her when his mother was alive.
