This song afterlife by switchfoot in my opinion it's more of a Christian related song. Why? Well it mentions some of what nowadays Christians talk about. For example: "I've tasted fire I'm ready to come alive ill let it burn the way the sunlight burns my skin" this is talking about of what I assume the fire if God when you finally accept him you finally taste his fire and are ready to come alive. Another reason why is near the end he quotes "everyday I choose my fate" I think he's referring to when your ready and your purpose in this world is done you can ask God to set out your fate however you want. All in all I see this song as a Christian (Pentecostal) view point. In fading west I hope he talks about where his mind was about this song and the rest in vice verses.
