On his Zoo Kid bandcamp site, Archy says this about another song: "NOTE TO LISTENER: Perspectives change throughout." And I think that's true with a lot of his songs, including this one. A lot of times he seems to alternately address a girl who's usually called Blue or Baby Blue, or just Guuurl :) , and at other times he bitterly addresses some sort of controlling authority figure he seems to despise, like in the lines: "I don't deserve history repeating itself/
always see myself getting picked up and left back on the shelf" and "you're not my pen, you're my paper/ you're not my heart, you're its breaker." Anyway, this song overall just seems to express his feelings of futility about life and possibly also his hope that the girl can help lift him out of those negative feelings that are dogging him.
