This song is about a young couple who isn't as in love as they used to be.

"So far we have found, that it doesn't Work for everyone, but I'm thinking This could be the one, if we put our minds to it"

This is the beginning of the relationship when they think that they can be one of the few couples who can stay together throughout their teenage years and get married.

And I came round today, and you saw that I had so much to say, and I know you Hate seeing me this way, but I'm having fun

He realizes that he's only 16, and he wants to live his life. "I know you hate seeing me this way, but I'm having fun"

And then the chorus is talking about him realizing that the world is huge. It's not just his little high school experience, there's so much out there in the world and he's barely opening his eyes to it.

Trying to prove you're all right And losing track of the time Even with the summer passing by

He's saying to his girl that the relationship is fine, even though it's boring and stale. The summer is passing by! There are so many things he could be doing with his life but he feels that there's no excitement in the world.

Bringing it down, into focus I try to bring it down, but I'm hopeless We should write this down so we can remember it

So now their love is dwindling away. He wants to save the relationship and go back to their feelings of love, hence the "write this down so we can remember it" but the honeymoon phase is over.

Yes there was a time, when we were Two of a kind, but now I can't Even remember why.

Self explanatory. Gets me every time. Ahhh, young love.
