first of all, the correct lyrics are "you would eat your young." i know, it's hard to believe and hard to see the symbolism in a phrase like this, and at first i thought it was strange too, but once i got it, it clicked. i think this song is an outright battle cry to pedophiles. i don't know if any of the band members were abused as children or if they are just speaking out for those who were, but it makes sense to me.
"they don't even have a soul left to be saved" is another line that i didn't understand at first but that makes more sense if you think about child abuse/rape. when you rape a child, it's as if you literally steal their soul. it is a horrible atrocity that unfortunately happens a lot, and i think this song is calling it out and shedding light on it. fortunately there IS hope for healing from child abuse and rape, but this song is just more focused on the rage that comes from it.
also, the political and war references are easy to see. i think this song has multiple meanings - child abuse, as well as political abuses, and on top of that, possibly the war in iraq, terrorists, etc. the middle eastern sound is the main thing that makes me think that, but i know they were overseas for much of the creation of this album, so that could have influenced the sound too. i think this song has many layers and that's what makes it great. whatever you get from it, it is undeniably a powerful song.
I think the sentence "You would eat your young" is about the stuff he's seen, the crazy things he saw in the "battle" that will make you go as nearly as insane as he did.

@KeroseneFire I disagree. I read that "You would eat your young" it's a phrase used to describe someone really evil. So I think this is a song has to do with people that are almost soulless and the destruction of this world.
