RHCP in my vision always were overrated, their lyrics are crappy, that if you understand the message, and if they have one song or two, is because they didnt had crappy lyrics and instruments musical performance fitted there.
@zeroZ I dont think that they are overrated because apart from the lyrics, their music is strong and has a profound style to it that nobody else does. Even if the lyrics dont make a whole lot of sense, it still fits in well and compliments the song.
