When I was a kid skiing with grandpa, the tips of my skis caught on the icy crust of snow when I was turning and I did a faceplant. Grandpa said that was called a horn swoop and I am sure the same would apply to a dogsled on ice especially when being pulled by any "bungo pony" whether that be a girl or a husky at the end of the leather harness.
