I think the whole thing is about lust, and the fear of loving someone, or more so the fear of being hurt. He's saying he can't trust people and he want's to be proven wrong, but no one really can. Love never seems to work out for him so he just decides to have go have fun and forget about it all. Hence "why don't you come here and try to turn me on" as opposed to "prove me wrong". He has kinda given up on love but deep down he wants someone to come along and make him believe again. Just my take on it!
Found it the other day and love it. It's got a different feel to most of their other tunes. The verses in particular are pretty rad.
