Interesting song. I don't know what these lyrics are about either, but the idea of the moon being disguised as an organic rock (if it were actually an artificial satellite) is interesting. (though I know it's not true, I'm using it as an example of what the other person wrote) I never read the novel, but for some reason, this song seems to be associated (at least a little bit) with the new age era. Certain images in Ladytron songs stir in my head visions of spiritual awareness and the universe.

If this song does have any esoteric message, I would say that it means that any individual can transcend everyday occurrences to find some sort of spirituality within the universe (perhaps I'm attaching my pantheistic views on this song) regardless of whether or not certain aspects aren't actually cooked up to be what they seem. (ex: the moon being an artificial satellite instead of a rock).

Times change, so we should learn how to adapt to the newer age as it progresses. You learn to see more than just the science behind the moon, stars, planets etc and find that humans are star formations. It sounds ridiculous, but it's really not. There are certain things in the universe humans are unaware of, so we might as well let things be.

People have a funny way of trying to find literal meanings in songs, and it's pointless, because while songs may deliver literal meanings, you can't actually 'see' through the soul of the one who wrote a specific song--only the person who wrote the song can know 100% what it means which is why songmeanings exists.

Those are my two cents. As I said, I don't know what these lyrics are about. I took a guess.
