A phenomenal lyric and song production by the late Carl Wilson. I still remember when it was released on the Holland album back in the early 70's which was recorded in The Netherlands.
There (IMHO) have been a plethora of songs, poems and videos about colonial Europe "doing in" the Native American population. Usually a tale of rape, riot and mayhem.
But the Beach Boys really succeed in contrasting the lifestyle and worldview of the Indians to that of the European settlers (or, if you prefer, conquerors). And hint of the spiritual duality of us all (body + spirit) and the coming of an eternal time "beyond tomorrow" ... "without hours". Very different, for example, with John Lennon's "Imagine" where disbelief in everything is the mantra.

Rest in Peace, Carl Wilson. God Only Knows.
