Usually lumped in with the pre-Dan demos, I am pretty sure this was recorded, along with "Don't Let Me In",. after Steely Dan was an established band. Possibly recorded during the sessions to "Can't Buy A Thrill" or even "Countdown to Ecstasy". If it is from '72, they should have really considered releasing "Come Back Baby"/"Don't Let Me In" as their first single instead of the "stinko" "Dallas"/"Sail The Waterway" pairing. That definitely sounds like Denny Diaz on guitar on both tracks. I can't tell whether that is Jim Hodder or Joe Dicepolo on drums, although I am leaning towards Hodder on that one.
