I actually think this song, along with most others including death, is about his battle with mental illness. I can relate to it all because I battle a lot of what he deals with. I love that he found his release in some of the pain by pouring his heart and soul into the lyrics. I wish I was that talented. I think in order for him, me and many others that constantly battle this it is important to find a healthy release from the inner turmoil that we constantly struggle with.
