I think this song is about someone who's passed away, whether it's a child, lover, friend or family member. whenever I hear this it reminds me of my grandad he passed away almost 2 years ago and I regret not saying goodbye to him properly, him and my nan live about 300 miles away and he was rapidly deteriorating. my sister, brother in law, brother was driving up to him and there wasn't enough room in the car for my mum as my nephews were going, I gave up my place so my mum could see her dad, I dont regret that, but what I do regret is not finding another way to see him as he passed away 3 days later and I never said goodbye to him. I wish I could see him one last time to say sorry and say goodbye and tell him how much I love him, even if its only for a minute, even if I don't say anything I just want that one last chance
