I think in general the song is about temptation. How in the beginning of a relationship you have that "pull" to the other person. Then when time passes you start to wonder if there might be someone else, and every time you feel the temptation to cross the line you weigh your options and either end up with the one you are with, or just give in.
As Ani says: the answer to each moment must be yes, and the question can you live with that becomes the test. On the other hand you ponder if there could be something better, someone better, but still can't let go of the one you're with. It's just the same person you end up to each time.
