Now my spidey senses can get on with the main business of the day - the meanings! Yeah...that.

For me it's about social networking. In my experience, your 'friends' become distant and the ones you don;t know as well seem more appealing. But anyway, 'light on the side' (your phone?) Hole in the wall (computer?) It's about remembering how things were before the era of Facebook, 'we got the ride of our lives' the past is irrelevant, procrastination is king, status is king.

Steering through the cold light of day - cat pictures replace proper conversations. I could be well off the mark here, but the the clincher for me is about when they pass through

'It aint what you done it is what you do, lets go'

Done - we post what we've done on walls. But the song argues its about what you do. Live in the now, don't live for the entertainment of how drunk you were. Or for cats. Or to write rubbish.

Ultimately Liam concludes that his friend is is relying on social networking for communication, rather than picking up the phone. And in a way, he has found out who he is fake/real. Things don't pick up where they left off.

Nice little acoustic song. I like how the last two lines of the song are echoey and quieter at the end, nice work there.
