Yeah my initial thoughts were that this was about a relationship. Recently though I've wondered if this is actually about God. The "dead angels" are the Saints/Apostles. Plus all the wine/blood references totally remind me of the last supper where Jesus tells his disciples to "drink of the wine for it is my blood..." (not an exact quote). He's saying that he only believes in God because it alleviates his fears, but that in reality God is just pretend. And also the possibility that the only reason he is a Christian is because it is readily available. Literally go "look for God" and Christianity will be the first thing you find. Now this sounds unusual to me because I know Jon has stated before that he was a Christian, but maybe he's had a change of heart, I don't know. Could just be about him doubting too, that's normal for any Christian to go through.
