I dont think he is making fun of the pop culture (or party culture)... In fact, his music is considered as hip hop which is part of pop culture.
I belief he is mocking those who criticize pop culture just because. Those who prefer to criticize instead of take a break and enjoy life how it is and not how society tell us. If you think about it, pop culture may be popular because it express how people really feel and what they really like.
"I am not, I am not going to stand on the wall
I will dance, I will dance, I will break that ass off
ANS I SEE YOU IN THE CORNER, CORNER LOOKING SO SMALL
Doing the robot like if I die tonight at least I went hard (""Because the robot is SOO FUN"")
I will not, I will not give a damn who watches me"
Pop culture is the biggest promotor of homosexual and liberal ideologies, and as we see in his "same love" song, that is something he fights for.
If you see the video they are dressed as from the 70's, and 80's (Disco Era). So if in any case, if he is mocking someone, is to the people of that generation... The 70's and 80's appeared to be fun and easy going. This generation was characterized by their drug abuse and promiscuity (Just as the actual generation).
Who is he making fun of then? Human nature? I don't think so.
At the beginning of the video, he talks about the roots of most of american. England. Exhaled from the boring, old fashion and conservative Grate Britain to the fun and liberal US.
In my opinion, he is from America and he has received a lot of support from it. I don't think he is going to attack the partying image US is trying to sell to the rest of the world. I mean, the party culture is a whole market.
