I don't think this is a strong song musically speaking, but i identify with the lyrics. Being in love grips your heart and drives you over the edge and makes you act irrationally at times especially if you fear it's being encroached upon or violated. I guess some people have never felt love, which might be fortunate, as it can really tear you apart if you feel like things are crumbling.
