Awesome song! I think it's about a relationship hitting a certain point where the singer realizes he is not the same person he used to be (when he entered the relationship). This affects his relationship to the point of it ending. He wants to make it work but isn't fully committed, perhaps because deep down he realizes it's just not meant to be and it just too much effort to keep it going. Its about boxing up and moving on...
