I love this song because from the others point of view, she exposes his self-destructive reality. By continuously searching for lovers as some sort of 'safety nets', he ultimately loses what was right in front of him all along. A woman who loves him dearly, who chooses to deal with his pervasive ways almost as if to prove not all women are like his mother.
Long story short, he does it to himself. And she puts it wonderfully.
