The song was not originally done by Human League (who have never actually recorded a version of it), but by Philip Oakey and Giorgio Moroder. The song was made for the soundtrack to the movie Electric Dreams which was about a geeky bloke who buys a computer system (back before pc's were in every household) and the computer becomes sentient. The relationsip between them starts out okay, the computer is like a child, always learning. But when it gets jealous of the mans relationship with the musician who lives upstairs things get ugly quickly. Eventually the computer uploads itself to the internet and roams the world. Just before the credits, it takes over a radio station and dedicates this song to the guy as a good bye.
