This song is sort-of "meta" in that it's about the three weeks Todd has spent in California, where some of RAM's recording sessions took place.
"Driving this road down to paradise / Letting the sunlight into my eyes" - the road from Thomas' house, as described in the Collaborations video.
"Our only plan is to improvise" - Daft Punk let Todd mess around with live-recorded samples. They didn't know what he'll make and he didn't know what the'll do with his work. Todd's work appears in the chorus, BTW.
"Keep building these random memories" - partial title drop which also serves as a pun on constructing the album.
"Turning our days into melodies" - yep.
"I’ll just keep playing back / These fragments of time" - the use of recorded media as a metaphor for memories fits the theme of blurring the boundary between human and digital, just like the album title.
"Familiar faces I've never seen / Living the gold and the silver dream" - he's an old friend of Daft Punk and they're known to always wear masks in public. This generation's masks are gold and silver-colored.
However, despite what the song says, Edwards did stay. He has permanently moved from his native New Jersey to California.
