It sounds like he's talking to the crowd. He sings for the people in the crowd and is on stage for all of them. He doesn't have to say goodbye, because he'll be with another crowd soon enough. But I think this could easily be a front. This song sounds exactly like an experience with unrequited love, especially when he says "I wanna know you, I would love to." I recently had to move away from someone who didn't know how I felt about them and probably didn't feel the same way anyway. Saying goodbye in a situation like that is incredibly difficult, and you pretend like you "don't have to" all the way up to the very end. To me the first and last part where he says "I'm loving you, I want to, I would love to" confirm that that's what this song is about. I guess it could be about the crowd and it could be about an individual, but either way it's a really great song.
