Everyone's saying how they think this is about that perfect moment in love, which is weird since I think it's the exact opposite. In fact, I think most of the album is the exact opposite.

I've always considered this song to be about that moment where you both realise that, whilst it's been wonderful and all, it's just not meant to be. And then, in spite of knowing it's doomed, deciding to ignore that for just a few more moments. I've always thought it was about the moment right before love dies.

It's all in that first verse for me. Hell, the first like 8 words: 'I can hear so much in your sighs'. That sigh sounds like love dissolving to me. But maybe I'm just cynical. I don't think it's that though, because i still think it's absolutely beautiful, but in a different, aching, tragic kind of way.

Song Meaning

@Lafrowna Yes, I agree. It's like, who thinks Wouldn't it Be Nice is a happy song, when to me it sounds like a doomed relationship song. Very complicated!
