There's a quite a few references to hospitals and being revived, and I strongly believe that these lyrics take a large bit of inspiration from Josh's near death experience during surgery a few years ago. He was really affected by it and even considered quitting music. So I personally believe this song is about being close to death, and having that experience change you.

To those who don't know, it's about a police officer who is in a comatose condition and finds themselves transported to the 1970s/1980s. I could go into more detail, but I think you know what I mean.
