Don't know if these are the original lyrics to the tune when the Marketts recorded it but in 198? the Ventures released a version of the same tune on a little-known label (Award Star Single EPV-8401) with vocals by someone named 'Leisha Z' (a member of a neo-swing group named Tuxedo Junction). On it there's two versions of 'Telstar' and two versions of 'Out Of Limits' (longer Dance and shorter Radio versions for both, all with vocals by 'Leisha Z'). Some consider these versions as "artificial" since they're from the 1980s and a drum machine was used on them but I happen to like them a lot. Anyway, here's the lyrics to the Dance Version (sorry, I couldn't make out a couple of lines):
Your radio is now in our control. Do not attempt to alter the sound and intensity of your receiver. You will find you cannot. You are tuned to an interplanetary frequency emanating from an unknown source. You are about to penetrate the ultraradiant light and the total darkness which surround the 'Out-Of-Limits'.
Somewhere very far, past the stars, there's a place for me
Far beyond the crowds, past the clouds, in eternity
Maybe it's a dream but it seems like reality
It's 'Out-Of-Limits'
Just a step beyond __ twilight zone
Not a single sound all around, I am all alone
Can't communicate __ a telephone
'Out-Of-Limits'
Someday I'll travel and I'll unravel
All the mysteries of space and time
I'll find the right track, if I don't come back
You can look for me, I'm in your mind
I can take you there, if you dare, you can come with me
You can close your eyes, fantasize, it's my fantasy
We can go from here, just appear at the happening
In 'Out-Of-Limits'
Someday I'll travel and I'll unravel
All the mysteries of space and time
I'll find the right track, if I don't come back
You can look for me, I'm in your mind
I can take you there, if you dare, you can come with me
You can close your eyes, fantasize, it's my fantasy
We can go from here, just appear at the happening
In 'Out-Of-Limits'
