I think the specifics, like violins and markets, can be disregarded, as they're just tools used to paint a picture. The song to me seems to be about two people who see beauty and joy in the world if they are able to "close their eyes" and ignore the people who see the world as an ugly, dark place. And then these people find each other, and they can share in that beauty together. Definitely a love story (though not necesarily romantic, I can see this being about friendship as well).
