Venus Blue

Ok maybe Venus represents both the planet, which I doubt somewhat, and the goddess. Venus was the goddess of sex, fertility, beauty, love, etc.. "Dead Venus blue" could be about how our, or the Earth's, beauty is dead due to our pollution, etc...Since Venus is also the goddess of fertility it makes me think that there's a connection with that and how the Earth gives us everything we need to survive, yet we destroy her. I think the "I peel back my skull for you..." means "I do everything I can" if you literally peel back your skull you see your brain, your control center. Of course, as with all Acid Bath songs, I get a sense of necrophilia. "I taste the wreckage of crumbling faces I know the pale thing in the darkest of places" Literally tasting a decaying face either through cannabalism or something more sexual, the pale thing is a body (caucasian) in a tomb/grave. Anyway, there's more to it than I'm ever gonna know, but that's some of the things that come to mind.
