I think this song is about a long distance relationship: "If he could he would shrink down to fit through the holes... Into your arms" that he desperately wants to work, he just wants to be with her. "We'd learn to distinguish truth from false alarms" I think means they need to be together to seperate the truth from any rumours/ miscommunications between them. The line "And we'll fall asleep every night so easily" because they'll be together as opposed to having difficulty sleeping from being seperated. "C'est la vie" literally translates into 'That's life" - there's nothing we can do to change it... but, "I'll be your breeze". He'll be your breeze of fresh air whenever you need him. "I finally feel like myself, honey don't you feel like yourself?" - they're reunited and feel like a perfect puzzle that's finally put together. The line "I learned we all play our part in this thing, we've all got a song we were put here to sing" means the relationship works if they both put effort in, we're all here for a reason. "It's less of a circle and more of a ring" could mean that he's proposed with a ring (and as he's married, this could well be the case!) This relationship works because he'll "Be like that heart that you cut out and pinned on your sleeve" - a metaphor that she wears her heart on her sleeve and that she's honest and loving towards him. He tells her that he "needed you just to keep breathing." This could be taken that he needs her so he can survive.
I can't believe nobody has commented on this! Andrew Belle is so underrated but is probably my favourite musician of all time, so I thought I'd write my interpretation!
