Cover art for Gun-Shy Sunshine lyrics by Silversun Pickups

I am going to take a stab at this. If you are familiar with the phrase "No more mister nice guy" I believe that phrase describes this piece, in at least a simple manner. The artist clearly states, several times. "Hands drawn, eyes dried" And considering the title of the song, is Gun-Shy Sunshine, seems to me to suggest that the artist has simply had enough with letting people walk all over him, and is quite prepared to face their oppression, in any way possible. I understand that there is a likely-hood that this interpretation may not fit in with the entire piece. It is also stated, that the artist describes himself as "A modular man" which to me seems to be yet another indication of my theory. I think he is stating that he has become, in fact, modular. He has given in to the apathy of his fellow man, and has embraced a callous side to his character.

That's quite possible, initiating a balance in his life to hopefully make things better for himself. In that case, this song would be the exact opposite of Rush's 'Animate,' from their album "Counterparts." But then, explain what this "gun-shy sunshine" is, how does that fit into the equation? Who is this other person that the speaker is addressing when saying "your," multiple times?
