So I think at this point it is pretty clear to any frequent listener of Streetlight or Kalnoky that Thomas has experienced suicide or suicidal behavior in a close relationship be it a friend, family member, or partner. To me this song reminds me a lot of the stuff off of Everything Goes Numb.

Perhaps the subject of this song is the same as in The Saddest Song and A Better Place, A Better Time. I like your perspective that the one the narrator is with is the same as addressed in other songs. I agree that there are agnostic themes within this song along with reflections of suicide and how it may have gotten to that point.
