This is one of those curiously astounding songs where beauty (and exceptional songwriting talent) coalesces with despair. On "Been Here and Gone" Zedek excels at that. The whole album but especially this track, seems like some lonesome testament to exhausting alienation and emotional decay that's sometimes harshly undeserved but mostly seems willful, and all the more tragic. Can't help but feel her music is noble in a way.
