this is one of my favorite waxahatchee songs... i spend a lot of time thinking about my grandparents' lives - and how different things were for them, when they were 23 - and often the differences are unfathomable... it is something massive that i think about all the time and it is articulated beautifully in this song.
@jennpelly I think there is the telling of a story here in this song and a recap of Waxahatchee's youth in contrast, something of the desperation for a partner taking on survival importance. Just wish there were more narration of Rose's story.
