I believe the song is about healing oneself spritually
First saying how you you can fool yourself ,cheat,and hurt you heart.
but then goes on to say that you can mend the wires,which would be your heart and feed your soul ,your spirt.The one thing that keeps one from doing this is pride.
Suprising to me the word Love isn't in the song,because Love heals all.
