I think everyone is thinking way too deep into this. I don't think it's about politics or the church. I think it's about what the words say: an alcoholic/deadbeat father, and the struggles of the child. I don't know why everything has to be a huge metaphor.

Reminds me of how Obama lied and said he was going to "pull troops". He may have pulled some troops to make it look like the war is dying down..but I know people who are gettng sent out to Afghan more frequently than normal. So people...
