It has a very happy sound but there is definitely some substance in the undercurrent here. To me, the song is about having multiple sexual partners in life but not really connecting to any of them emotionally, since there are multiple "women and girls" that he meets, and he is "turning all [his] feelings into jelly and goo". The sex is good, so he's convincing himself that the lack of connection with these women doesn't matter..."it makes me angry when you are sitting next to me"...the women are good for nothing but sex.
"There's a fire in my house but it doesn't really matter cause I never put it out" says to me that he knows the meaningless sex is the wrong way to go about things, he knows he's making a mess of his romantic life, but it doesn't really matter because, like he says earlier on "now this is me". This is what sex has turned into for him and he doesn't know how to have it any other way. It's just a pleasurable experience devoid of emotional attachment.
