This song was released during my junior year of high school at about the same time I fell
totally "in love at 1st sight" with a beautiful "out of my league-sweet sixteen" blonde.
Who had transferred from another school.
Anyway, for some reason she seemed to have an interest in me also, however anytime
I had an opportunity to talk to her I would freeze up and I later found out she already had a
boyfriend, who she soon married, than divorced soon after.
A couple of years after graduating I discovered she was working at the local hardware
store. Once again, froze like a deer caught in the headlights when I had an opportunity to talk. If I had I probably would have found out she had gotten divorced and maybe an acutal chance of asking her out. BUT NOOO!!!
Several months later, I'm at a small party date less of course and guess who comes in
with a new boyfriend.
The only good thing about it was that I had a few drinks and we were actually able to
have a conversation that night. And I was able to let her know in a round about way (which she already knew) how I felt about her.
I believe she ended up marrying her new boyfriend.
