This, to me, is the saddest of all the songs ever written by Amy Lee/Evanescence. The songs is an apology to all of the fans of the band for being absent for so long, but also for not being able to write the same type of sad songs that they used to. Being "Lost in Paradise" is a metaphor for being happy to be where they are today, but at the same time they are "alone" because after all that they had done to build themselves up, they are not the same people they once were.
